Huckerby scored a hat-trick for the Premiership side to send home cup hopefuls Macclesfield with their tails between their legs. Froggatt and Whelan made the score 2-0 after 36 minutes and it was all over in first-half stoppage time when their big centre-back Payne scored an own goal. Coventry threatened to run riot in the second half when Huckerby scored his hat-trick and the other goal was added by Boateng
