Ten man Coventry recorded a famous FA Cup fourth round win in a classic tie at midlands rivals Leicester after Noel Whelan had given the Sky Blues a 17th minute lead. Their backs were against the wall for the remainder of the match after George Boateng was sent off in the final minute of the first half after receiving his second card. Matt Elliott wasted a chance to eqalise for Leicester when he pulled wide a first half injury-time penalty
Coventry 'keeper Magnus Hedman denied Leicester with a series of superb second half saves to preserve his sides lead. With Leicester fully committed to attack Coventry broke twice in second-half injury time to secure their win with goals from Steven Froggart and Paul Telfer.

Coventry took a 17th minute lead with a marvellous moment of skill from Noel Whelan. David Burrows crossed from the left, Trond Soltvedt touched it on to Whelan who beat Elliott and then chipped the ball over Kasey Keller into the far corner of the net from just inside the area
0-2 Coventry 89 mins Telfer
Substitute Paul Telfer scored a breakaway goal in the 89th minute. Frank Sinclair had a point-blank shot saved by Hedman in a crowded penalty area.
Coventry broke quickly and with four attackers against one defender, Telfer had time to pick his spot from eight yards

with Leicester surging forward once more Coventry again won the ball and broke quickly. Noel Whelan found himself in space on the left. He passed it forward to Steven Froggart whose crisp shot beat Keller from 12 yards
