Rushden & Diamonds first ever appearance in the third round of the Cup saw them battle their way through to a replay at Elland Road. The Premiership side looked more comfortable once in control of the ball, but the non-league team harassed the United midfield to deny them space. An early chance for Foster was possibly the best chance for Diamonds, where as Leeds could have scored on a number of occasions
