Our tours include a vide spectrum of sights, activities and experiences, carefully designed to give you a genuine feel for the nature, culture, people, history and present of our beautiful islands. The Aland Islands are like the whole of Scandinavia in miniature, all in one place. Everything will be first class, we have gone to great lengths to ensure you will have the best of everything. All tours are performed with our private minibuses in groups of no more than eight persons per guide, and a total maximum of 16 persons per tour in order to secure the exclusive and personal experience. The same guide will accompany you all week so that you can enjoy truly personal and flexible service. Guiding language is English. You will stay at the same first class hotel all week and from there we will take you on day tours to different parts of the islands. The day tours include some shorter boat trips, ferry trips and meals will be enjoyed along the excursion routes where available. Seasonal highlights will also be included according to availability and dates. Such things as concerts, local markets, boat dinners, exhibitions, auctions and other special experiences will be added when available. Almost every week throughout the season from May to August some special event will occur. The Nordic nature is at its peak during our season and the famous Scandinavian light nights are an experience in themselves. Every day you will enjoy a diverse program and three meals a day as well as a snack between meals. Meals are not stated in the itinerary but they are included in the price. Meals will include traditional and seasonal highlights, if you enjoy first class gourmet food with a local touch - this is the place for you to be! The restaurants have been carefully selected because of their high standard of food, service and often also a great view. Many of the restaurants belong to a co-operation called "Taste of the Archipelago" which means they have committed themselves to using mostly locally produced or caught products, thereby providing genuine and high class food and also excellent service. |

| Day 1 Sunday | Arrival in the afternoon to Mariehamn, transfer to your hotel and check-in. Welcome meeting and welcome dinner. | ![]() |
| Day 2 Monday | City walk in the city of Mariehamn with visits to the Aland museum and the maritime quarters, as well as visits to some local crafts studios. In the afternoon you will experience a light hike in a nature reserve close to Mariehamn. If the weather allows we will make a seal safari by boat to the inner archipelago. | ![]() |
| Day 3 Tuesday | Roundtrip in the history of the islands with visits to the Kastelholm Castle built in the 15th century, the Jan-Karlsgarden open-air museum with traditional 19th century peasant buildings and the ruins of Bomarsund fortress and its outposts which were blown up during the Crimean war 1854. We will also join a snail safari. A hike to the stone age village site and a visit to the only local vineyard await you in the afternoon. | ![]() |
| Day 4 Wednesday | Day trip to the archipelago, to the island of Kokar in the south-east. We take the archipelago ferry in early morning and enjoy a two hour ferry ride through the archipelago. Hiking in spectacular natural surroundings, a visit to the local church completed in 1784 and the remains of a 15th century Franciscan monastery, a boat trip to a special island with fantastic cliff formations and a garden founded by an eccentric baron are some of the days events. Meals will be enjoyed in Kokar. | ![]() |
| Day 5 Thursday | First we will go to the western part of the main island, Eckero, and there we will visit the Eckero mail and customs house, built in the1850;ies by famous architect CJ Engel, which now houses a crafts exhibition and a café. We will also visit a wild animal safari and the hunting and fishing museum. On the way back we will visit a local ceramic crafts studio. The afternoon will be spent hiking through the northern part of the main island, along a culture trail. The trail is about 2,5 km long and tells a tail about the history of the local people as far back as to Viking times. You will experience a Viking grave site at the end of the trail. The evening will be spent with a traditional Finnish sauna and dinner at a restaurant with a spectacular view. | ![]() |
| Day 6 Friday | Fishing trip with local fisherman in the morning. After lunch we will visit the maritime museum in Mariehamn and the museum ship Pommern, a majestic 4-masted steel bark built in 1903. For late afternoon we will reserve time to visit some of the more unusual places of interest, by our choice or your requests, and for the evening we will make special arrangements with dinner and perhaps some dancing. | ![]() |
| Day 7 Saturday | The morning will be reserved for strolling and shopping in Mariehamn, guided or on your own if you wish. Local crafts such as ceramics, textiles, wood and blacksmith objects are popular souvenirs and can be bought straight from the craftsmen´s studios. In the afternoon we will visit a traditional farm and a beautiful church built in the 12th century. In the evening it is time for your farewell dinner. | ![]() |
