¤ John Howard Carpenter (born January 16, 1948) is an American film director, screenwriter,
producer, editor and composer. Although Carpenter has worked in numerous film genres in his
career, he is most commonly associated with horror and science fiction films from the 1970s
and 1980s.
Almost all the films in Carpenter's career were critical and commercial failures, with the
notable exceptions of Halloween (1978) and Escape from New York (1981). However many of his
works from the 1970s and the 1980s such as Dark Star (1974), Assault on Precinct 13 (1976),
The Thing (1982), Starman (1984), Big Trouble in Little China (1986) and They Live (1988) have
since been seen as cult classics, while Carpenter has been acknowledged as an influential
filmmaker.

The band formed in 1986 in New York City. A no-frills band heavy on tattoos, biker-band lyrics and leather,
the band consisted of vocalist Alex Mitchell, guitar players Ricky Mahler and Gary Sunshine, bassist
Craymore Stevens, and drummer Ryan Maher. The group played in New York for several years until they
were signed by RCA Records. Around 1990, Gary Sunshine switched to guitar, and Zowie joined as bassist.
In 1990, Circus of Power got a huge break, being named as the lone opening band (for the complete tour)
opening for Black Sabbath on their Tyr album.
Zowie was replaced by Marc 'Frap' Frappier, and Mahler by Victor Indrizzo respectively. In 1991, the
band signed to Columbia Records and relocated to Los Angeles. Circus of Power disbanded around 1995.

director, writer, producer, actor, perhaps best known as a director of many horror films, particularly
slasher films. He is the creator of the famed A Nightmare on Elm Street, Wes Craven's New Nightmare,
and also co-wrote A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors with Bruce Wagner, featuring the iconic
Freddy Krueger character. Craven has also directed the entire Scream series, featuring Ghostface. Some

Russell Ira Crowe (born 7 April 1964) is a New Zealander Australian actor, film producer and musician.
His acting career began in the late 1980s with roles in Australian television series including Police
Rescue and Neighbours. In the early 1990s, Crowe's local prominence peaked when he won the Australian
Film Industry Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of an inner-city skinhead in the Geoffrey Wright

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV born July 3, 1962, better known as Tom Cruise, is an American film actor and
producer. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and he has won three Golden Globe Awards.
Cruise first debuted in a major film in Francis Ford Coppola's The Outsiders, released in March 1983.
His first leading role was in the film Risky Business, which was released in August 1983. After
playing the role of a heroic naval pilot in the popular and financially successful 1986 film Top Gun,
Cruise continued in this vein, playing a secret agent in a series of Mission: Impossible action films
in the 1990s and 2000s. In addition to these heroic roles, he has starred in a variety of other
successful films such as Rain Man (1988), Days of Thunder (1990), A Few Good Men (1992), Jerry Maguire
(1996), Magnolia (1999), Vanilla Sky (2001), Minority Report (2002), The Last Samurai (2003), Collateral
(2004) and War of the Worlds (2005).

¤ George Dewey Cukor; July 7, 1899 – January 24, 1983) was an
American film director. He mainly concentrated on comedies and literary
adaptations. His career flourished at RKO when David O. Selznick, the studio's Head
of Production, assigned Cukor to direct several of RKO's major films including What
Price Hollywood? (1932), A Bill of Divorcement (1932), "Our Betters" (1933), and
Little Women (1933). When Selznick moved to MGM in 1933 Cukor followed and directed
Dinner at Eight (1933) and David Copperfield (1935) for Selznick and Romeo and Juliet
(1936) and Camille (1936) for Irving Thalberg.
He was replaced as the director of Gone with the Wind (1939), but he went on to
direct The Philadelphia Story (1940), Adam's Rib (1949), Born Yesterday (1950), A

Stanley Donen (born April 13, 1924) is an American film director and choreographer hailed by David Quinlan as "the King of the Hollywood musicals". His most famous work is Singin' in the Rain, which he co-directed with Gene Kelly.
Born in Columbia, South Carolina to Mordecai Moses Donen and Helen Cohen, both of whom were Jewish. Donen himself became an atheist in his youth [1]. He attended the University of South Carolina. He went to New York City as a teenager and at age sixteen was a dancer in the original production of Rodgers and Hart's Pal Joey, which starred Kelly.
Donen started at Metro Goldwyn Mayer as a choreographer and dancer in Best Foot Forward (1943) with Lucille Ball. Donen appeared with Kelly in Cover Girl (1944) for Columbia Pictures, for which Donen also directed a sequence of Kelly dancing with his double on a darkened Manhattan street. His first chance to direct an entire movie was an adaptation of the Comden and Green musical about sailors on leave in New York City, On the Town (1949), with some songs by Leonard Bernstein, which Donen co-directed with Gene Kelly. This was the first movie musical to be filmed on location.
With Kelly again, Donen co-directed Singin' in the Rain (1952) and by himself directed such classics as Royal Wedding (1951), where Donen directed Fred Astaire dancing on a ceiling; Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) with Jane Powell and Howard Keel; Funny Face (1957) a musical romantic comedy with Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn; Pajama Game (1957) with Doris Day; Indiscreet (1958) with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman; Damn Yankees (1958) a musical comedy with Tab Hunter, Gwen Verdon, and Ray Walston; the comedy thriller Charade (1963) with Hepburn, Grant, and Walter Matthau; Bedazzled (1967) a satirical updating of the Faust legend starring and written by British comedians Peter Cook and Dudley Moore; and Two for the Road (1967) a drama with Hepburn and Albert Finney. He also directed the out-of-character science fiction film Saturn 3 (1980) when the film's original director resigned. His last theatrical film to date was the May-December romance Blame It on Rio (1984) with Michael Caine and Demi Moore, though he would go on to do additional work for television, including directing a musical sequence for the TV series Moonlighting, Lionel Richie's music video for "Dancing on the Ceiling", and a made-for-TV movie on ABC entitled Love Letters (1999).
Donen was nominated for five Directors Guild of America Awards, but never nominated for a single Oscar. (He did produce the 58th Academy Awards ceremony in 1986.) In 1998 (for the 1997 awards), Donen was granted an honorary Academy Award "in appreciation of a body of work marked by grace, elegance, wit and visual innovation." In his acceptance speech, he danced with his Oscar statue while singing Irving Berlin's "Cheek to Cheek" and declared one of the secrets to being a great director is "You show up--and stay the hell out of the way. But you gotta show up or else you can't take the credit and win one of these guys." Martin Scorsese presented the award.
