| Ī Queen Victoria of England and Ireland (1837-1901). Victoria was born at Kenington Palace, London, on 24 may 1819. She was only daugther of Edward, Duke of Kent, fourth son of Geroge III. Her father died shortly after her birth and she became heir to the throne because the tree uncles who were ahead ofher in succession - George IV, Fredrick Duke of York, and William IV - had no legitmate children who survied. Her marrage to price Albert Brought nine children between 1840 and 1857. Victoria died at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, on 22 January 1901 after a reign which lastd almost 64 years, the longest in British history. | |||||||||
