Hans-Erik "Hanski" Ramströms muical life in brief until today.

The first tune I came in contact with was a military march, played on a violin by the doctor that delivered me. Good for me, a shock to my mummy who laid there astonished in front of the violin-man.

I was born in 1960 and soon the Beatles was on everyone´s lips. So even on my sisters´ from whom I learned to like them. I wanted to be like Ringo, wild and longhaired. Batman and Robin were heroes as well.

I had my first gig at the age of twelve, playing some popular tunes of the day for my classmates. Later on I met a lot of music lovers with whom I played and together we made our "own" music. The style changed from waltz to blues to rock´n´roll á la Grand Funk Railroad, Thin Lizzy and ZZ Top to mention a few. Playing dances in the nearby area of Åbo and Pargas gave us pocket money.

In the age of 24 I was lucky to meet some guys that made their really own music and I ended up with them as their bassplayer for nine years. The name of the band was Good Evening Manchester. We made one record for CBS and two for EMI in Finland and were out touring on and off, and played Ruis Rock twice, 1991 and 1993, the oldest rock festival in Europe. We even had some gigs in Sweden and Denmark. We ended up disappointed and financially ruined and with a lot of experience that we at the time couldn´t use wisely.

So when Niclas asked me in the end of 1997 to join a medieval band where his brother Totte (Torgny) played I just accepted it because of boredom. And it turned out I really liked it! (I´m learning to play the hurdy-gurdy there). And in 1998 Ella joined the group and was telling Niclas and Totte she would like to form a band and play a blend of folk and rock music. They asked me as well, they had a drummer ready (Tony) and Ella´s sister Cocki wanted to sing as well, and they knew a keyboardplayer (Örjan) ready to jump on his keys and I asked myself, how could I compete with them, low on self esteem as I was; hadn´t touched the bass for three years, but it turned out luckily! Wow, and proud I am to play with them!
