Niclas "Nicke" Stjärnfelt

(born on December 6, 1966)

All kinds of percussion, vocals.

Music is my biggest hobby. Took my first stumbling steps within the musical world 1983, when I started playing drums in a band called Hexagon. Later I joined another band called Signs of Life. After a few years break I took up playing drums again in 1992 in the band Lusthus. We recorded a single in 1993 and had many gigs in Åland and also a few gigs at Kåren, Turku (Åbo) before I left the band in 1995 (Ella, Barka Vall´s violinist was at that time a member of Lusthus). I also played drums in an Alice Cooper-coverband, called The Vincent Sisters together with my brother Totte and Hanski (both members of Barka Vall).

In 1997 I joined the medieval ensemble A Austrvega, playing percussion and singing. In autumn 1997 I began taking singing-lessons and had the privilege to participate in the choir in the musical theatre Katrina during the summer of 1998. I´ve been a member of Barka Vall from the beginning in November 1998 and I like to mix in "non-Nordic" rythms, e.g. Arabic, in our music.

In my album collection you`ll find: medieval music, all kinds of folk- and ethnomusic, heavy, pop, classical. Shortly said I listen to all kinds of well performed music, except techno- and Swedish danceband-music.

I participate on following records: The single Abstinens, with the band Lusthus 1993 The music from the musical theatre Katrina 1998
