to young people goals and activities of non-government institutions,
exemplified by the Kolobrzeg Foundation for the Environment Protection

and disseminating the principles, rules and mechanisms of local democracy,
presenting the idea of the youth city council

for cultural diversity, eliminating mutual prejudices and stereotypes

outlines
Preparatory
meeting
- date:
5-7 June, 2000
- number
of participants: 25 (2 teachers from each school taking part in previous
meetings from Finland, Sweden, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia,
Russia, Åland Islands, and all Polish participants)
- main points:
discussion and approval of the programme of the main meeting, local
sightseeing, an excursion to the Wolin National Park and Kamien Pomorski,
a short cruise, a meeting with local authorities

Main
Meeting of the Baltic Week
- date:
24-29 September, 2000
- number
of participants: 280-300 (150 from abroad). Foreign students will stay
at homes of their Polish colleagues. Teachers will be accommodated at
the Centrum Hotel.
- basic
programme: local sightseeing, excursions to the Wolin National Park
and Slowinski National Park, a short cruise, a meeting with local authorities
(members of the Youth City council including), common entertainments
(a disco, a bonfire), musical and dancing performances by participating
teams, cleaning the beach, visiting local environmental facilities (water
supply station, sewage treatment plant, etc.), taking part in the 2nd
International Ecological Conference "Man-Water-Environment"
(organised by the Kolobrzeg Foundation for the Environment Protection),
ecological quiz, ecological poster contest, athletic competition.
