Text emboss background 2

1. Create a new image (128*128, 256*256 or 512*512) and fill it with 50 % grey.

2. Create black or white text or add a black or white logo, place it and rotate if you like. Before you continue, make sure that the text layer is rendered (PS 5 users only).

3. Go to Select\Load Selection... and make sure that "XXXXX transparency" (where "XXXXX" is your text layer).

4. Now select Select\Modify\Contract... and enter the value two. Invert the selection (Picture\Adjust\Invert) and flatten the image (Layer\Flatten Image). Choose Select\Select none. It will look better if you blur the image a little (Filter\Blur\Gaussian Blur... with a setting around 0,2 - 1).

5. Now choose Filter\Stylize\Emboss... and use Angle 135 (or the angle of your choice), Height 1 and Strength between 100 % and 200 %. You can change color with Image\Adjust\Hue/Saturation.... This is what it should look like:

6. You can now edit your background as you like, you can for example use Filter\Render\Difference Clouds.
