The most important industries in Åland are shipping and tourism. Åland has 16 communities. The smallest community is Sottunga with 126 inhabitants. The biggest is the town Mariehamn with about 10 500 inhabitants. Mariehamn was founded in 1861, and is the only town in Åland. The town is the centre of politics and industry in Åland. Since 1954 Åland has an own flag, which is blue, red and yellow. 1984 we got own stamps.
