Hunting and Fishing Museum

About us

The Åland Hunting and Fishing museum was built in 1995. The museum is owned by a private organisation.

Folke Wickström is the architecht. The museumhouse is an exticing buildning with a lot of corners, angels and plenty of roofs.

The museum got one enployee, the intendent. During the summer there is also a person working as a receptionist.

Most of the artifacts are collected by a NGO, an organisation founded in the 1970-ties. They started to collect items connected to hunting and fishing and saved a lot from destruction. Much later on there where a suggestion about founding a museum.
