2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 cups of chopped onion
2 cans (1 lb. 12 oz. each) peeled whole tomatoes
1/2 can (6 oz.) of tomato sauce
2 cans (1 lb. each) kidney beams, drained (reserve liquid)
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
dash of salt
1 packet chili mix |
Cook and stir ground beef and onion in large heavy roaster until meat is browned and
onion is tender.
Stir in tomatoes, liquid from kidney beans, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Simmer
uncovered 1 hour 15 minutes.
Add beans and simmer uncovered 15 minutes, or until of desired consistency. Stir
occasionally.
